The way in which many of us book holidays has changed in recent years. Ten years ago, were many of us have relied on local travel agents you will find us a good deal.

Comparing the prices are often involved, taking into account some special offers that may be available, or cause increased costs from the time of year (school holidays, for example) or the number of passengers.

We can compare the prices relatively quickly and have more opportunities in terms of structure, as we have our holidays. We are no longer the narrow confines of the package holiday market – we are now, regardless of our flights and accommodation, with much less effort.

So everything has improved. Or is it?

The Internet has given us much information, but also how this information is truly reliable? When I review the posts I read, I often find that other people are very different from my own experience.

It is clear that we all have different ideas about what to do on a good holiday.

It seems to me that while prices for vacation can come down, many of us look to the left to trawl with masses of information, many of which are much less reliable than when provided by the good old travel agent.

Perhaps we should “progress” through the Internet with a small pinch of salt.
